FKK Thailand will appear in the April issue of Samurai Asia Magazine, featuring YN2-TECH's AM solutions. They are utilizing the AM solutions proposed by YN2-TECH for the production of headphone parts for well-known companies and the development of their own brand of sports products.
FKK Thailand produces headphone parts, car accessories, sports uniforms, etc. by high frequency processing and sewing using PU leather and urethane. The number of Thai employees working there is over 600. Zumi+ masks with a high sense of design that are available to buy at various places, like Japanese supermarkets, are one of their products.
The parent company Fuji Kasei Kogyo Co. , Ltd. (Headquarters: Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture) was founded in 1959 and manufactures ear parts and headband parts used for headphones by well-known audio manufacturers using its own special manufacturing method and sewing technology.
FKK (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a Thai subsidiary, was established in 2011 as a production base in Southeast Asia.
In 2020, the company launched “L!ORG”, a golf equipment brand unique to Thailand, to develop and sell shirts, golf gloves, shoe bags, and so on.
The 3D printer that was introduced at the suggestion of YN2-TECH is being utilized in the company's product manufacturing.
The 3D color printer "Objet 260 Connex 3", from Stratasys in the USA and adopted by FKK Thailand, is a high-end entry-level model. With a fine stacking pitch of 16 μm, delicate and complex shapes can be expressed, meeting the needs of professional users.
By combining a 3D printing system using liquid plastic (polyjet method) and materials, it is excellent in visual expression, such as using multiple colors (from neutral color to clear color) and transparency (transparent to opaque). In addition, it is possible to reproduce the feel due to the difference in hardness (hard to soft).
■ Entry model multi-material & multi-color 3D printer
■ Ideal for creating prototypes with a wide variety of colors
■ Color, transparency and hardness can be changed
■ Production of high heat-resistant prototypes is possible.
■ Design information can be imported directly from CAD files
The use of 3D printers has drastically shortened the time required to produce samples for the development of headphone ear parts. In addition, it is now able to create samples with higher accuracy than ever before. (MD Kato)
In response to MD Kato's request, "I want to increase the utilization rate of 3D printers. I want to try new things," YN2-TECH is also cooperating in making prototypes of gear and accessories for the golf equipment mentioned above.
"Making prototypes from scratch is costly and time-consuming, but with a 3D printer, we can experiment with different shapes and color combinations at a low cost. (MD Kato)”
"3D data is required to utilize 3D printers. YN2-TECH has honed its ability to make proposals using 3D data and printers while working with customers related to automobiles and home appliances.
This is the first time we have developed products for B-to-C customers in golf equipment, but we are working with FKK Thailand while sharing our wisdom. (MD Nakamura)"
MD Nakamura says he would like to promote AM (additive manufacturing *1) in Thailand.
"Not only selling and doing maintenance of 3D printers, but we would also like to develop something together with customers. I want to disseminate it in B-to-C. With FKK Thailand, we would like to become a partner that they can rely on anytime. We would like to be like “Doraemon” that can be consulted for any problems with 3D solutions.”
