Accretech (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Tokyo Seimitsu (Thailand)") held a private show, jointly hosted with TOSEI (Thailand) Co., Ltd. as per last year.
The third private show was held for three days from October 25 to 27, 2023, and attracted a record number of approximately 500 visitors. This article introduces the contents of the private show and the highlights of the exhibition.
The main theme of this year's exhibition was "Spirit of Measurement -Know measurement, Know manufacture-". We exhibited mainly solutions to help visitors understand the effectiveness of equipment efficiency improvement (OEE) by combining instruments with each other.
The following three products were highlighted at our booth.
■ SURFCOM NEX 200
This hybrid measuring machine enables measurement and analysis of surface roughness and contour shape in a single tracing. A wide variety of workpieces enables efficient evaluation of workpieces with undulations, inclines, and R-surfaces, and process efficiency can be expected by improving the drive speed.
Measurements that used to be performed individually can be completed in a single trace, contributing to time and manpower savings.
■ RONDCOM NEX 300
This is a roundness measuring machine with automatic centering and CNC arm specifications for fully automatic measurement. In addition, the optional AFD (measuring force control detector) automatically measures the inner and outer diameters of workpieces, and when combined with the XY-axis automatic stage, eliminates the need to replace the workpiece each time it is measured. Programming a single operator to supervise multiple RONDCOMs reduces labor and saves manpower.
■ ViScan *Optional function equipped with XYZAX AXCEL
This non-contact image probe has two functions in one unit, 3D-contact measurement and image measurement, and its main feature is that the sensor part swings. This allows measurement of the surrounding area without moving the workpiece, thereby reducing measurement time.
It is possible not only for soft materials such as sheet metal, rubber, and plastic parts, but also for high-speed measurement of workpieces with many holes, which takes time to measure.
■FANUC: Robodrill × Runout detection system
FANUC's cutting machine "Robodrill" is equipped with the "ATC Runout Detection System" that detects sudden failures due to chip bite that occurs during tool change. The entire measurement process can be completed in only 0.03 seconds.
■Mitsubishi Electric: "GENESIS64" x Measuring instruments
By linking Mitsubishi Electric's "GENESIS64" with Tokyo Seimitsu's precision measuring instruments, production progress of the entire factory, error status of each processing machine, and quality level can be visualized in real time. This solution aims at centralized quality control and improvement of operation rate.
■Takamatsu Machinery: CNC lathe "XW-60" × Electric micro
The collaboration between the electric micro of Tosei Systems (TOSEI), a subsidiary of Tokyo Seimitsu, and the “XW-60” CNC lathe of Takamatsu Machine enables quick and automatic measurement of the diameter of the workpiece, shortening machining cycle times and achieving excellent productivity.
■Shigiya & SBS: Cylindrical grinder x Balancer x Electric micro
TOSEI's electric micro measures the inside diameter of the workpiece, and the SBS balancer automatically finishes to the size of the set workpiece diameter while controlling the vibration intensity of the grinding wheel. Shigiya's cylindrical grinders are equipped with this system.
■TOSEI (Thailand) Co., Ltd.: Post-process measurement system
During the exhibition, a total of 10 seminars were held inviting cooperating manufacturers and experts as lecturers. Among them, the basic course on "Geometric Dimensional Tolerance (GD&T)" and "Surface Roughness" was well received, and the number of customers who attended it exceeded the capacity. The reason why many Thai people, especially those involved in QC (quality control), QA (quality assurance), and designs, attended the seminars may be that there are few opportunities to learn such basics at the site in Thailand.
The number of visitors to the exhibition has increased each time it has been held, and the event has received high evaluations from many customers. One of the reasons for this is that more and more companies in the Thai manufacturing industry are working on automation, manpower saving, and work efficiency improvement. The number of exhibitions in Thailand with "measurement" as the main theme is still very small, and it was great to see many QC/QA-related on-site staff came to attend. We would like to continue to develop our business by exploring demand.
