Focusing on service is the policy of Cosmowave who sells air leak testers in Thailand. This time we will have Mr. Winai, General Manager, and Mr. Sopon, Sales & Service Manager, talk about an impressive episode of solving problems and recommended products.
Q:Thank you for your time today. At first, could you let us know what you actually do?
Mr. Winai: My job is to control the entire company as GM. Sometimes I visit customers, too.
Mr. Sopon: In addition to selling products in general, I also provide the training how to operate the testers. Visiting sites and solving customer’s problems are also my jobs.
Q:What is the common problems that customers have? How do you solve them?
Mr. Winai: There are many customers who do not understand the correct way of operating the instruments, so I try to explain operations clearly.
Mr. Sopon: There is no problem on the features of the instruments, but I get many questions about specifications and functions suitable for the usage.
Mr. Winai: We have had lot of experience almost 20 years since we started business and kept a good relationship with our parent company in Japan, Cosmo, which helps us to give our customers the best support. Based on our long experience, we propose the solution to customers, exchanging and sharing the information with the partner.
Q:Is there any impressive experience or episodes from the establishment of Cosmowave Technology until now that you can share with us?
Mr. Winai: We received damage by a heavy flood in 2011. Not only us, but also customers in Ayutthaya province and Pathumthani province were also damaged, and all the instruments and facilities they were using were submerged. After the water level decreased, we fixed some of them in our factory and some at the customer’s sites. We set up a temporary camp for repair work and moved some facilities out of the water by human power.
Mr. Sopon: Back then, hundreds of instruments were waiting to be repaired so we had to work on the weekdays and weekends also. Normally it takes us 2-3 months to fix a machine, but at that time we reduced it to 1-2 months, and we charged the customers much less repair expense than usual.
Mr. Winai:Anyway we focused on fixing products before talking about how much it would cost because the customers were in trouble.
Q:That is such a hard episode. But your effort back then lead to the customer’s trust, didn’t it?
Mr.Winai: I believe that solving customer’s problems is our duty. We managed to get through the damage by the flood and many years have passed since then, but the customers still remember well about that time.
Q:Could you tell us about a new product next?
Mr. Sopon: We launched a new model of Air Leak, LS-R902, replacing the current model LS-R902. Temperature compensation feature was newly added. By adopting a touch panel, it can deal with multiple languages such as English, Chinese, Korean, German, Spanish and Portuguese with a simple operation. It comes with a USB port on the front panel to ease data management and test accuracy has also improved.
Mr. Sopon: We also would like to recommend the waveform analysis system “Movelet”, which detects sounds and vibrations with a signal analysis system. It is a relatively new product with only a few years have passed since we started selling it, but it is well received by customers.
