Effect of temperature on leak testing

Since the COSMOWAVE leak testing machine interprets the value as the air pressure, the temperature, therefore, affects the test and changes in the air pressure. This article will look at how much temperature change will affect the leak test.

From the example above, this work is tested with a pressure of 100 kPa, and during the test, a 0.1 °C change in temperature resulted in an erroneous reading of 68.7 Pa. If calculated as the leakage rate, the machine will give an incorrect reading of as much as 40 mL/min. Thus, it can be concluded that temperature has a significant effect on the reading of the machine.
