‘System DG (Thailand)’ that performs multiple processes from design to manufacturing of specialized machines and inspection equipment

Each product in the world and each component of a product has its own role and function, and there are a wide variety of tests that can be conducted to inspect the function, such as durability tests, performance tests, safety tests, etc. Are you in need of equipment to perform the necessary tests that is not available in the Thai market, or that needs to be made from scratch because it is not available in either Japan or Thailand?

In this article, together with Mr. Doi, the MD of SYSTEM DG (THAILAND) CO., LTD. (hereafter referred to as "System DG"), we will introduce his company that handles all software, electrical and mechanical equipment (mechatronics) in-house to create specialized equipment.

System DG, which entered the Thai market in 2010, is the Thai subsidiary of DG Co., Ltd. (formerly Doi Giken), which designs and manufactures inspection equipment for automotive electronic components and other products.

"We mainly manufacture equipment in Japan and assemble systems in Thailand and deliver it within Thailand and neighboring countries such as Vietnam and Indonesia. In recent years, if the equipment is relatively simple, we design and manufacture the equipment itself locally in Thailand, such as making equipment for data acquisition for product development in the engineering department of a customer, or inspection equipment for production lines. Although a performance tester or a safety tester may sound simple, there are a wide variety of inspection items and inspection methods," says Mr. Doi of System DG.

Nihon Denkei and DG have been working together for more than 30 years, leveraging each other's strengths

“We have been working together with Nihon Denkei for more than 30 years, including each other’s head office. Nihon Denkei handles a wide variety of power supplies and measuring instruments. We sometimes incorporate them to manufacture our equipment. They are an important partner of our company as both a customer and a supplier.” (Mr. Doi of System DG)

There are of course times when we receive a project at Nihon Denkei and have the equipment made and delivered by System DG. Personally, I have had a relationship with DG since I was working in Japan, and later, when I was posted to China and Vietnam, I worked with DG to build specialized machines in response to the growing demand for custom-made specialized machines. Then, when I was assigned to Thailand where System DG has a base of operations, we began to work together at full scale.

"What doesn't exist in the world, we make it in-house" DG conducts everything in-house, from conceptual drawings to mechanical, electrical, and system design/manufacturing.

Nippon Denkei does business with a variety of inspection and testing equipment manufacturers, but in many cases, each specializes in a particular field. Under such circumstances, DG, while specializing in the field of automotive parts, is able to create a complete system from mechanical (equipment and facilities) to electrical and software. This is extremely valuable, especially in Thailand.

“We receive a product from the customer, listen to what the customer wants to inspect, and then proposes everything from the overall conceptual diagram to the actual equipment and systems to be incorporated. There are many customers who assume that certain types of inspection would not be possible in Thailand, and when we make a proposal, they are often surprised and say, 'We didn't think this level of inspection was possible in Thailand.’” (Mr. Doi of System DG)
