An annual “Private Exhibition & Maintenance Workshop” was held at “Ibuki Industrial (Thailand)”, a Thai corporation of “Ibuki Industrial Co., Ltd.”, a specialized trading company for presses, sheet metal working machines and machine tools. On July 24th and 25th, a two-day schedule was attended by customers who use machines such as presses, as well as Thai engineers of business customers who are considering a purchase.
The person in charge from “SUGIYAMA ELECTRIC SYSTEM INC.” (Nagoya City), which manufactures material conveyance error detection devices, and “ENSHIN INDUSTRY CO., LTD.”, a partner company headquartered on the same site, gave seminars from the podium. The participants listened eagerly to their technical guidance.
The was the third workshop. At this season every year, it is held using the head warehouse of Enshin Industry as the venue. The feature is to explain how to operate machine tools, such as presses and lathes from the basics. Hisaharu Yokomaku, the president of Ibuki Industrial (Thailand) who sponsored the workshop said, “If you force it or you lack proper maintenance, the machine will be broken, and the mold will be destroyed. The workshop starts with an explanation on essential preventive inspections and daily inspections and focuses on the correct use of machines. "
The same as the previous year, Mr. Kenji Bouda from Kanto office of Sugiyama Electric System came to Thailand as a lecturer. The operation method of the material conveyance error detection device, which is almost becoming standard equipment among Japanese companies in Thailand, was explained anew. It is the device that stops the material conveyance automatically when the sensor detects an abnormality. It was explained that by using this device, the destruction of the mold and the production of defective products can be reduced. Thai participants showed strong interest as the device is expected to penetrate the market in the future.
Mr. Bouda of Sugiyama Electric System, who exhibited and explained the sludge floating detector “Die Height Detector PS462”
This time, Sugiyama Electric System exhibited and explained about the sludge floating detector “Die Height Detector PS462”. This detector is a device that monitors the adhesion of sludge pieces such as metal debris, generated by punching die, to the inside of the mold. It prevents the product from being scratched or dented. For parts that require extremely high accuracy, such as automobile internal combustion engines, a slight abnormality can lead to a major accident.
Although it is not yet standard equipment in Thailand, Mr. Bouda sees that “the demand will surely come in the future as the industry becomes more advanced”. In addition to these workshops, Mr. Bouda mentions that he travels to Thailand once every month and a half to two months, and is in constant consultation to resolve customers’ troubles. “Thailand's manufacturing industry has grown a lot. Lately, there are voices coming up from the field about whether some anomaly can be detected very naturally,” he said with smile and continued with strong tone that “I will continue being a bridge between Japanese and Thai manufacturing.”
The person in charge at Enshin Industry also gave a talk at the workshop. The company is a sole agent that looks after installation, repair and maintenance of press machines and machine tools sold by Ibuki Industrial (Thailand). He gave commentary and advice with an emphasis on daily inspections and preventative inspections that are often neglected in Thailand. The venue was crowded with participants, including Thai engineers throughout the whole day.
