KWE - KINTETSU WORLD EXPRESS THAILAND CO., LTD. (KWE Thailand), a Thai corporation of the major international logistics company "Kintetsu Express", has recently launched a new extreme emergency transportation service to North America, “US 24”, in Thailand. This delivers loads within 24 hours from Bangkok to Chicago in the central United States and Los Angeles in the western United States, replacing the market of hand carrying transport goods, about which uncertainty still remains with customs clearance. Furthermore, ease of use has increased due to reduced costs. New efforts are also expected to play a role as a camphor agent in the logistics market.
■Emergency transportation service to North America, "US 24". Detailed pages are under construction!
US24 utilizes a bulk room in a general aircraft departing Bangkok. Adjusted with the airline companies for the space that the company may use preferentially for about 1.5 cubic meters per flight. Such space can accept loads until just before takeoff of the aircraft and is the first place to be unloaded after arrival. This ensures the maximum load acceptance time. It has become possible to deliver highly urgent supplies of transportation goods, such as automobile parts, and industrial parts, such as electronic parts, in addition to medical equipment, and even event goods, etc. within a short time.
Currently the transportation service is to fly to Chicago from Bangkok departing at midnight and arriving early in the morning local time on the same day. The time required is estimated to be around twenty-two hours. On the other hand, for Los Angeles, the flight leaves Bangkok in the morning and arrives in the evening local time on the same day. This takes about twenty-three hours. At each of the local destination airports, the person in charge of the US corporation of the group company handles the customs clearance, delivery, etc. The burden on shippers is also light.
KWE Thailand started this new service since the need for extreme emergency transportation was high, especially during the peak season (September - December) when the Christmas shopping season and year-end selling season overlap. "We had the responsibility to create a new premium service in order to respond to customers' expectations." said Mr. Junichi Ishimori, who developed this service. He took over half a year to develop this new service. Since the departure of the first flight in late September, he said the company has received many inquiries so far.
Transportation service is occurring every day. Since we use trustworthy airline companies, the expected delays in the future are estimated to be minimal. The size of the door of the bulk room is 91 centimeters × 114 centimeters, and the size of each piece of baggage is the size which an adult can hold. Therefore, it is possible to bring in the baggage just before flight departure. More than anything, customers may be pleased that they do not have to rely on a hand carry service, which is expensive and has baggage limitations.
In addition to responding to extreme emergency transportation, the company intends to increase opportunities for matching with shippers that have not traded with the company since introducing our new service. The Asia - North American airline routes are promising routes with remarkable growth potential among international logistics, and many companies are expecting orders for their businesses. This will also lead to the discovery of new needs.
"Growing North American business is one of our important strategies. We would like to continue with efforts that firmly grasp customers' needs." said the president, Mr. Yasuyuki Tani. In the Thai airline industry, which is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the air cargo transaction amounts in 2017 achieved first place for the first time. We are determined to make it a year of further significant progress.
