Nippon Oil Pump Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as NOP), a leading manufacturer and distributor of various pumps—including the industry’s top-share trochoid pump—has been expanding beyond pumps in recent years to become a provider of coolant solutions.
To shift its image within the industry from a "pump manufacturer" to a "coolant solution provider," NOP is actively expanding its product lineup and promotional efforts not only in Japan but also in Thailand and Southeast Asia.
One such initiative is the newly developed "NOROSHI" series coolant tank unit, newly developed specifically for Thailand and the Southeast Asian market.
"NOROSHI" series coolant tank unit integrates NOP's cyclone filter pump into a coolant tank designed and manufactured in Thailand by Suzuka IP (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Suzuka IP), a company specializing in machine and equipment repairs as well as chip conveyor manufacturing. It was released in October 2024 as a jointly developed product by NOP and Suzuka IP.
Coolant unit “NOROSHI” – Component responsibilities
❖ Pump: Nippon Oil Pump Co., Ltd. (NOP)
❖ Tank & Chip Conveyor: Suzuka IP (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
❖ Sheet Metal Coating Process: Suga Steel (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
This coolant unit is the result of a collaboration that leverages the strengths of Japanese companies while emphasizing local production in Thailand.
Developed under Suzuka IP’s concept of "affordable yet reliable", the unit features a simplified structure, focusing solely on essential functions to minimize costs. It is specifically developed and designed for water-soluble coolant machining in the high-demand BT30-class small processing machines, such as machining centers and tapping centers.
Since its establishment in Thailand in 2011, Suzuka IP has completed numerous projects, including machine tool inspection, adjustment, maintenance, overhauls, and installation. The company also specializes in the repair and manufacturing of peripheral equipment. With extensive expertise in machine tools, Suzuka IP ensures its peripheral equipment is designed for optimal practicality and efficiency.
The company has extensive experience in manufacturing chip conveyors and producing custom solutions tailored to each customer’s needs.
Having been involved in the maintenance of machinery and equipment using NOP’s pumps for many years, Suzuka IP recognized an opportunity to create a high-quality, cost-effective coolant unit by leveraging the expertise of a pump specialist. This shared vision between the two companies led to the realization of this collaboration.
The coolant unit for BT30 combines the NOP cyclone filter pump and Suzuka IP chip conveyor. The chip conveyor removes large chips, while the cyclone filter pump filters out micron-level small chips, offering space-saving and low-maintenance benefits.
■ One-Stop Service from Design to Production in Thailand! A Collaboration of Three Japanese Companies
Suzuka IP’s highly skilled Japanese engineers, with expertise in machinery, equipment, and systems, have designed the product in Thailand.
With all three companies having operations in Thailand, they can offer short lead times (as quick as 30 days) and provide prompt inspection and maintenance services.
■ Maintenance-Free and Low Running Cost Structure
Drawing on extensive experience in Thailand, where coolant system issues are common, the design minimizes the need for maintenance and cleaning, eliminating the use of drum filters. Instead, a cleaning shower settles floating chips, while the coolant inside the tank is stirred to remove accumulated chips and sludge.
■ Offering High Quality at a Mid-Range Price
By focusing on products for BT30, high quality has been achieved despite the mid-range price. It addresses common coolant-related issues and challenges frequently encountered in Thai manufacturing environments, offering a user-friendly design while keeping costs low.
■ Space-Saving Design
Compact design without a drum filter.
Initially, it will be sold as a coolant tank with a chip conveyor for BT30. However, the company plans to eventually develop a version without the chip conveyor and offer flexible size customization based on demand.
