NS Solutions supports the manufacturing and financial industries in the fields of system construction and application construction. The Thai subsidiary "Thai NS Solutions" tackles the challenges of the manufacturing industry and takes the methods learned from developing the successful cases of the Chinese subsidiary in order to support DX (digital transformation) in Thailand.
Business systems such as ERP and MES exist as solutions to these problems, and in addition, digital technologies such as AI and IoT are also evolving. However, there are not many companies that can utilize these (realize a DX conversion) to achieve their management and sales goals.
คุGM Ishii (sales department) of the Thai subsidiary says, "One of the reasons why it is difficult to convert to DX is that the IT knowledge of the people in the department responsible for business reform is not sufficient." The reality is that in most companies, employees who are the key to promoting business improvement are not familiar with IT, and the IT department has existing operations and is difficult to get involved in new initiatives.
However, "More and more customers want to work with references to DX cases that are successful already, " says Mr. Ishii. Thai NS Solutions is utilizing the proven achievement of NS Solutions' base in China to support the conversion to DX of Japanese affiliated companies in Thailand.
China has abundant IT human resources and is creating advanced tools one after another. For Japanese companies, there are a few so-called "complex relationship" in China, and it is easy to try new methods, so it is said that there are many cases where local subsidiaries are working on DX ahead of time.
1. Fully automatic packaging system using RFID
Automated the manual boxing, weight inspection, packing, and labeling work. We combined an automatic packaging machine and a weight measuring machine with a system that can read multiple RFID tags at once as a data collection mechanism. The man-hours for manual work have been reduced by 80%, and the conversion resulted in zero false shipments.
Information from analog meters, which was thought to be readable only by the human eye, has been converted to digital data using AI image recognition technology. We have developed a system that automatically collects and analyzes data. It is possible to read the numerical values pointed to by multiple meters at the same time and identify the color of the light of the LED signal light. Efficient and reliable data management has been made possible while utilizing existing equipment that are difficult to modify.
Through images from smart glasses worn by workers in the field, we have built a system that can remotely assist workers from the perspective of workers while grasping the situation in real time from a remote location. For workers at the site, AR information is projected in the field of view and instructions by voice can be received, with both hands in a free state. Even inexperienced workers can perform reliable work by receiving instructions remotely from skilled technicians and receive education to improve the skills of these same inexperienced workers.
Thailand is also the same in the sense that it is easy for Japanese affiliated companies to start new things with a less “complex relationship”. The NSSOL Group's strength is that it can provide one-stop consulting, proposals, development, and maintenance for vague consultations such as "I don't know where to start from." Close communication within the group sharing the latest information on a daily basis is accelerating the amount of accumulated know-how.
