Continue to introduce the system measures introduced by NIPPON STEEL PIPE (THAILAND) CO., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as NSPT).

Avoiding hand-written documents: An ideal work efficiency improvement for managers.
In addition to equipment and products, on site, there are also safety equipment and measurement devices to ensure product quality. These require regular maintenance such as legal inspections and replacement. NSPT is no different, with hundreds of pieces of equipment in the factory that require legal inspections. Periodic inspections are conducted manually by facility operators, and the inspection results are written manually on a check sheet for each facility.
To address this issue, we developed a system that allows users to easily enter, share, and manage the maintenance status of facilities by simply reading QR codes on smartphones and tablets. The feature of this system is that it is a general-purpose system that can be used to inspect all kinds of facilities and equipment.
As a first step, a system to share the inspection, validity period, and replacement status of fire extinguishers in the plant has been established and is now in operation. It is planned to be applied to all kinds of items that need to be managed on a regular basis, such as quality measurement equipment that requires periodic inspection, calibration, and maintenance, and fixed asset management.
Challenges
・It takes time to walk around the fire extinguishers, create inspection stickers and inspection ledgers manually, etc.
・Occurrence of omission of detection of abnormal values due to inspection omissions, expiration, etc.
Inspection workflow
Features
✔ both the person in charge and the administrator can access the latest information.
✔ Inspection status can be easily entered with a tapping of the screen.
✔ Paperless
✔ Email notifications and alerts to administrators about inspection deadlines
In the systemization of business operations, if the manager leads with only right arguments and theories, it may result in a system that is difficult for the site to use. It is important to try to find a balance between certainty and usability from the perspective of the actual user.
The TH-SOL team, who developed the system, frequently visits the plant and knows everything there is to know. In the relationship with the system integrator, it is important to have them understand our requests and listen to the opinions of the site. I believe that thanks to their understanding of the factory and the ability of Japanese people to communicate with each other smoothly, we are able to realize the best system for our site. (NSTP, Mr. Takashima, EGO)
Companies that are struggling with IT systemization for overseas production bases such as Thailand should find a reliable local system developer.
For Japanese factories, a system integrator such as Thai NS Solutions, which has a mixed team of Japanese and Thais who can assist with the Japanese/Thai communication gap within the customer, would be the best choice.
