One-stop support for automation in Thailand! Also aiming at the expanding EC market

TRUE Okura

Our company “TRUE Okura” was established in June 2015 as a joint venture between the Singapore subsidiary of “Okura Yusoki,” a comprehensive manufacturer of logistics equipment, and the Thai conveyor manufacturer Thai Rung United Engineering (TRUE). In the growing Thai market, we judged that sales support and maintenance support from the Singapore office were limited. It was time to establish ourselves in Thailand.

The greatest strength of our group is that we have all the logistics-related equipment such as conveyors, sorters and palletizing robots. Based on these, we support customers as a system integrator supplying the total system.

Thailand's production sites are ones where manual sorting and stacking of relatively light loads are still taking place due to the remnants of labor-intensive industries. However, the wave of automation and robotization is definitely spreading. Thailand still has the largest number of workers in the primary industry. Industry such as foodstuffs like rice, sugar, and wheat, or fertilizers and feeds, has packing for some products that weigh up to 50 kg. Even if there are abundant manpower, it is not easy to operate under such hard circumstances. Then, we believe that our material handling system and know-how, which has been cultivated in this field more than 90 years, can provide better solutions.

In Thailand, automation is an urgent issue due to rising labor wages and manpower shortages. However, when it comes to automation system, it is necessary to make a large amount of capital expenditures, and many companies are reluctant to decide on such an investment. To support customers in such cases, our business style is to offer a one-stop service providing everything from consultation to resolution standing from the viewpoints of the customers.

We are also keenly interested in Thailand's e-commerce (EC) market, which is growing rapidly – online shopping where one can place orders at home or the office and receive them at any place at any time. There is a market prediction that says the market size will expand by more than five times in the next five years. Further expansion is expected of related demand, such as picking, sorting and storage by automation. Itis a promising market for our business.

It has been three years since the launch of the Thai establishment. Thanks to everyone, we were able to start smoothly. For the next three years, our immediate goal is to double sales. However, we are still not well known among Thai local companies. We will continue to actively promote sales activities, such as continuing to participate in niche exhibitions as well as large manufacturing exhibitions. We would like to continue our efforts to increase our presence so that everyone will say, “Consult TRUE Okura for logistics!”
