PATLITE is a world-leading manufacturer of alarm devices with Japanese high-technology engineering in the manufacturing process. We have branches in many countries around the world including Thailand. We have alarm devices designed to be used in the factory and to meet the needs of various industries. Today, we will demonstrate how to import MP3 audio files into the alarm devices of PATLITE (THAILAND).
For this time, we will demonstrate how to import audio files for each step through a sample device from the company so that everyone can understand and can use it more conveniently from now on. We will demonstrate 3 series: Slim MP3 Voice Annunciator BSV series, MP3 Audible Alarm Horn (MP3 Voice Announcer Horn) EHV series, and MP3 Voice Annunciator / Audible Alarm with LED Signal Tower LKEH – FV series.
The Slim MP3 Voice Annunciator BSV series has a slim design and has functions that support MP3 audio files, thus getting clear sound and good quality during use. Due to its compact size, it can be installed in places where space is limited. And it has functions that allow users to easily modify the sound according to their needs.
Audible Alarm Horn (MP3 Voice Annunciator Horn) EHV series is a compact annunciator horn with a sound emitting level of 110 dB with a choice of operating modes for a wider range of purposes. Either it is a sound synthesis mode to make it easier to hear in factories or public places or other additional modes as well as being able to withstand vibrations up to 4.5G which is ideal for use with forklift trucks, AGVs, etc.
Not only is it a signal tower with large speakers that can sound a loud alarm, it can also be used in conjunction with the Playlist Editor to modify the sound as needed. In addition, another feature of this kind of device is that the color and number of fire layers can be selected according to your needs, up to 4 layers, making it convenient to use and responding to needs even more. Importing MP3 audio files into the PATLITE devices is easy as follows, and users can apply it to the needs of each business.
Step One: Format the SD card
Put the prepared SD Card into the computer and format the SD Card by selecting FAT32, click on Start and press OK. For this step, we have chosen Patlite's SD Card which has a storage capacity of 2GB.
Step Two: Create a folder
Next step is to load the audio files onto the PATLITE device through Playlist Editor 2. After that, create a Folder and name the New Folder as “Data” on the Desktop, then prepare the MP3 audio files that need to be imported into the PATLITE device and move into the folder “Data” created earlier.
* Recommendation : after moving audio files into the “Data” folder, we suggest setting the name of the audio file with 3 digits such as 001, 002, 003 etc.
Step Three: Downloading and steps to use the program Playlist Editor 2
Once the folder has been created, in order to import audio files onto the SD Card, you need to download the program Playlist Editor 2.
Steps to use the program Playlist Editor 2
- Double click on New to choose the model you want to use.
Double click Channel 1 / Phrase 01 to select the MP3 file that you want. These MP3 files can be found in the folder named “Data” on the Desktop. After you select the file, press “Save As” with file name “playlist.slp” and save it on the desktop.
Put the SD Card into the computer after formatting and copy the folder “Data” and file saved from Playlist to the SD Card, then it is done.
Steps to import audio files into the device
- Prepare the device and insert the SD Card into the selected device.
Connect the device to the power supply and turn off the power supply before inserting the SD card and turn the device volume up to a certain extent. Then, when inserting the SD Card, you will hear one short “Beep” sound, and after hearing that sound, wait about 1 minute with power supply, you will hear one more short “Beep” sound. When you hear this sound, it shows that the audio file has been imported into the device successfully.
Re-check in case of unsuccessful import of sound to the device
- In case of unsuccessful importing of audio files into the device, it will send a long "Beep" or "Beep" 3 times, which means that the SD Card audio file has a problem. When this happens, the solution is to check the steps from the beginning whether the procedure is correct or not? Recommendation: Use MP3 files, Bit Rate cannot exceed 128kpbs, and MP3 files must not exceed 1MB per file.
For equipment from other Patlite models, steps to import files are not different. However, in some models, it is necessary to change the DIP switch to change the operation mode, for example, EHV models need to change the operation mode to MP3 mode. Additionally, for LKEH – FV model, you have to change the DIP switch to change the operation mode to MP3 mode as well.
This is the process of importing audio from MP3 files into PATLITE alarm products, which allows the users to use it to its full potential and respond fully to their needs.
