Factory IoT solutions that lead to kaizen| Software ‘MotionBoard’ for easy and appropriate use of integrated data

07/12/2022
PATLITE (THAILAND) CO., LTD.

"Labor shortage due to soaring labor costs"
"Recording the operating status manually is time-consuming and labor-intensive"
"The operation record of each machine alone does not tell the operation rate and production rate of the entire factory"

Patlite has introduced a number of factory "visualization" solutions to solve various manufacturing site issues such as those described above. This time, we would like to introduce "MotionBoard," a software application that helps improve the production efficiency of the entire factory by making good use (output) of the visualized data.

Are you utilizing the visualized data for kaizen activities?

As explained in the past article on Procedures for making a smart factory , this solution is the software that plays an active role in the process of reflecting the acquired data in kaizen activities.

Steps for converting into smart factory
(1) Install signal towers (signal lights) in appropriate locations
(2) Visualize the acquired data (digitization of information)
(3) Reduce downtime as much as possible
(4) Convert the visualized real-time data into a report and link it to kaizen measures

Even if operational data can be visualized, it is meaningless unless it can be utilized for data utilization and on-site improvement. In addition, many Thai factories may have problems with software kitting and data output (reporting) when implementing IoT to their factories.

Easy real-time data linkage and synchronization Realization of data aggregation and analysis operations for any user

“MotionBoard" has the following features.

Features of the BI dashboard "MotionBoard"
✔ Real-time machine operation status can be grasped at a glance on the dashboard
✔ Notify operators immediately in case of trouble
✔ Analysis of causes and trends of troubles (machine defects, inconsistencies in product quality, etc.) based on the acquired data
✔ Automatic updating of all data to the appropriate values by simply changing the values in the database in case of production quantity changes, etc.
✔ Can be linked to various devices regardless of their manufacturer
✔ Reports can be easily created in Excel or CSV format
✔ Support initial kitting and on-site use lectures

In most cases, even within the same factory, each of the processing machines, cameras, scanners, and other tools used differ in terms of manufacturer, specifications, and operating years. In particular, machines made before 2017 are rarely IoT-compatible. With "MotionBoard", even if the specifications of such machines vary, data linkage and synchronization can be performed without problems. Data changes due to changes in production plans are also automatically updated and synchronized for all data with a single update of information. This system is expected to be especially effective in manufacturing plants where profits are greatly affected by machine utilization rates.

In addition, the acquired data can be made into a dashboard and easily output as a report, making it possible for anyone to easily perform aggregation and analysis tasks that tend to be personalized.

Support from initial kitting to on-site operation!

The more devices that can be linked, the more complicated kitting is, which sometimes raises concerns from customers. To eliminate such concerns, we provide support for initial kitting and lectures to on-site users when the solution is installed. We also provide advice on the creation of output data, as each factory has different requirements for the information to be extracted and layout in the reports.

It is recommended as a production efficiency improvement tool that can be implemented safely, securely, easily, and quickly, with immediate results.

If you are considering the IoT implementation in your factory in Thailand, or if you have any concerns about "visualization" of your production site and improvement of production efficiency, please contact us using the form below.
