Patlite has released the "WIO Series" remote alarm wireless control unit. These units allow for communication over a line-of-sight distance of 100 meters, which can be extended to a maximum of 400 meters with the installation of a repeater. This article introduces the features and examples of the product's applications.

■ Relay Function
By using a receiver as a repeater, the transmission distance can be extended up to 400 meters. Up to three repeaters can be used.

■ Easy Setup
Settings can be configured using the main switch on the device.
✔ Group ID settings allow up to 8 groups to operate within the same area.
✔ Level hold mode links the transmitter's ON/OFF state with the receiver or repeater's ON/OFF switching
✔ Input logic switching allows selection between A-contact input and B-contact input
✔ One-shot mode sets the receiver's output hold time (output holding / 12 seconds output)

Application 2: Abnormality Alerting of Factory Equipment

Solution: By utilizing repeaters, signals can be transmitted over longer distances, enabling remote alerting to distant locations such as offices. This can make trouble resolution more efficient.

Application 3: Displaying the status of facilities and equipment in blind spots (visualization)
Situation: The operating status of equipment in a blind spot in a production line cannot be monitored, leading to a delay in detecting an abnormality or noticing equipment stoppage, resulting in decreased productivity.
Solution: The system enables quick alerting of abnormal signals from equipment in blind spots by wirelessly transmitting it to a visible location using WIO and illuminate a signal light.

Application 4: Safety Measures for Transport Equipment
Situation: A collision accident occurs when a passing worker fails to notice the approaching equipment or vehicle.
Solution: When the transport equipment passes through the sensor, pedestrians are alerted with sound and light to prevent accidents.
