Industrial brushes are used in all processes of industrial production, from deburring metal parts to polishing, washing, and cleaning. Applications are not limited to parts manufacturing, but also include food machinery, woodworking machinery, cleaning and polishing of electronic substrates, road sweepers, and even defense equipment. For more than half a century, “State Industry Co., Ltd.” , headquartered in Yokohama, has been responsible for the production and sales of tools that are essential to these industries and fields.
The current president, Toshiharu Nakane, took over the business from his father and started global expansion, entering Thai market in 2010. Since then, more than 10 years have passed. The company is contributing to local manufacturing industry while increasing its presence in the country.
The Thai market continues to grow with the concentration of automotive and other industries. President Nakane feels strongly that there is potential for growth. Originally, Thailand was a major agricultural and exporting country in Southeast Asia. A variety of industries, not only the automotive, continue to generate new production activities here.
Therefore, the majority of orders are custom-made products that suit each customer's industry, factory, the machines used. The reality is that general-purpose products alone are not enough. Needs range from such as, removing burrs, cleaning off soot, and cleaning the inside of the machine. The company's quick and precise response to various customer needs has earned it a high reputation.
The trigger for the global expansion was to accompany the overseas expansion of client companies. Another decisive factor was that the cost could be much lower than exporting products from Japan. Malaysia and Vietnam were also up for consideration, but Thailand, with its diverse industries, was finally chosen.
There aren't so many competitors. There are only a few Japanese companies and the competition is mainly with Thai local companies. Some people may judge that it would be too much to handle if the company had to respond to such a wide range of needs one by one. However, President Nakane believes that this is where the opportunity lies.
Therefore, the company intends to continue to offer brushes in the Thai market with new concepts that are unique and original. After 10 years in business, the Thai staff has grown and developed. Even without backup from the Japanese side, they are now able to handle their own business to a certain extent. President Nakane's gaze toward his staff is ever so gentle.
Until now, the company has not had much interest in participating in exhibitions. However, now that the Thai business has grown to this level, they believe that improving their corporate image is essential for future growth, and are actively participating in the Japan International Machine Tool Fair (JIMTOF 2022), which will be held in November 2022, as well as Thai METALEX 2022.
