"Want to create a frictionless sliding surface"
"Want to manufacture products with high fatigue strength"
“Want to improve surface roughness immediately”
Based on these voices of manufacturing customers, Sugino Machine developed the roller burnishing tool "SUPEROLL" . In addition to improving surface roughness, it has been highly evaluated for increasing strength and hardness, and is used not only in Japan but also all over the world.
SUPEROLL is a tool that presses and evens the metal surface with rollers, finishes it smooth by plastic deformation. In addition to mirror finishing, it can do all of the following with a single tool!
① Surface roughness improvement
⇒ improved roundness by smoothing out surface irregularities. Supports cutting machining.
② Dimension adjustment (sizing) in units of several microns
⇒ Diameter correction in several microns without grinding, leading to improved yield
③ Increased strength and hardness (surface modification)
⇒ Only SUPEROLL can improve life and wear resistance with tool!
Sugino Machine's strength is the ability to design from scratch and make detailed custom-made products to meet the customer's application. If we can mass-produce standard products, productivity will increase and costs will be lower. In fact, many manufacturers dealing with similar tools primarily offer standard products.
However, SUPEROLL is a product that was originally created based on customer feedbacks.
It is meaningless if it does not solve the customer's problem.
For this reason, at Sugino Machine, we select and design each type according to detailed requests, and we also offer test processing to confirm the effectiveness and safety of the product before being purchased.
For example, in Malaysia, SUPEROLL is popular for increasing the hardness of semiconductor gas valve parts to increase their durability. Since shape adjustment in units of a few microns is required, the same application is increasingly being used in other countries. Other applications include automotive brake / motor-related parts, precision instruments, chemical industry, and home appliance industry.
