Takamatsu Machinery has released the latest models from its popular X series, which boasts a cumulative sales record of over 10,000 units. CNC lathes further evolved from the "XT-6," which made its debut in Thailand at METALEX last year, introducing the "XT-8" that can handle chuck sizes up to 8 inches and the "XT-8MY" with MY (milling and Y-axis) function.
"XT-8" and "XT-8MY" went on sale in 2021 and have already been delivered in Japan. The X series was developed to address concerns such as those who want to promote automation, but find it difficult to use robots for low-volume, high-mix production, or who cannot afford to invest in automated equipment.
✓Easy to use for automation of small-lot products due to easy setup changeover
✓Can be used as a manual machine according to needs and applications
✓Labor-saving at a lower cost than installing automated equipment
These points make the series easier to incorporate the automation that has been our forte.
■High-torque specifications for low-speed range can be added to provide powerful heavy-duty cutting capability
Added a specification that can exert high torque during machining in the medium and low speed range (*spindle bearing bore diameter φ120)
■ Realization of thermal displacement reduction by utilizing options
Unique thermal displacement compensation system & high-precision option for cooling of shaft pedestal.
■ TAKAMAZ new operation system
IoT (traceability function) and other features make automated machines easier to use.
■ FANUC control loader can be installed
In addition to the conventional Σi loader, FANUC control loader is available as an option. Efficiency of setup work is improved by utilizing the handle retrace function.

■300mm long shaft machining
High performance in spite of the smallest floor space in its class.
■ High rotary tool capability (BMT turret)
The bolt-mounted (BMT55) turret enables shorter set-up time.
Turret half-index function allows up to 24 tools to be mounted.
■ New type loader "F loader" can be installed.
■ TAKAMAZ operating system adopted (F-loader specification)
■ A full range of units to support machining of shaft workpieces
Extensive unit selection, including tailstock attachments such as self-propelled tails and built-in tails, etc.
The actual machines are scheduled to be unveiled for the first time in Thailand at METALEX in November. Even if the event is postponed, those who wish can visit our showroom to see the actual machine, so please feel free to contact us.
