The 2022 private show of Takamatsu Machinery (Thailand) was held for the first time in three years, since the corona pandemic started. It attracted a total of 70 companies and 274 visitors※over the two-day period of May 26-27, more than at the 2019 event, indicating that this was a much-anticipated event for both customers and suppliers
※Including those who attended both days.
This year, under the main theme of "labor-saving," eight manufacturers with products that are compatible with Takamatsu Machinery's lathes exhibited in support of the show. Various labor-saving and automation solutions were presented

“Global demand is shifting from gasoline-powered vehicles to EVs and hybrid vehicles. There are approximately 30,000 parts used in a gasoline-powered vehicle, and the trend in their production has been toward mass production (process separation). However, since the number of parts used in an EV will be reduced to approximately 10,000, production will tend to shift to a process-intensive. Therefore, even in Thailand, where EV production is expected to increase in the future, automation and labor saving are inevitable issues.
This private show was a valuable opportunity not only for our company to propose labor-saving solutions to our customers, but also for our company, Takamatsu, to grasp specific automation needs and manufacturing trends in Thailand and ASEAN. In April 2022, the new Asahi Plant (Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture) started operations, and the production capacity has also been strengthened. We will reflect the needs we learned at the exhibition in our products and services, and establish a system that will enable us to respond to demand even more flexibly.”
“Before the event, there were many concerns about safety measures and attracting customers, as it was the first time since the corona pandemic started, but all the employees are very happy and grateful for the large number of visitors, far exceeding our expectations. It has given us a lot of confidence for our future sales activities.
This year, regardless of whether it is an end user or a manufacturer, we have the impression that there are many customers who participated with a clearer sense of purpose than in previous years, and we feel that the two-day event was very fulfilling.
Manufacturers who exhibited said that they were able to interact with people from industries that they do not usually have contact with, and TAKAMAZ's ability to attract customers (brand power) was also highly evaluated.
TAKAMAZ lathes and the solutions (products) of the eight co-sponsoring manufacturers can all be used in combination in a same production line. Although we are a lathe manufacturer, we believe that we were able to further promote the fact that we can propose "labor saving" as a solution in Thailand as well.
We hope that this private show has been a catalyst to boost the machine tool industry in the future."
