Thai Escorp Welding Division sells welding materials and welding robots in the Thai market and provides engineering services. Thai Escorp was established in 1988 as a Thai subsidiary of Kobe Steel Group's Shinsho Corporation. In this article, we asked Mr. Hayashi, GM of the company's Welding Materials Division, to introduce the business and its strengths.
A long-established specialized trading company that has been providing sales and maintenance services of welding-related products in Thailand for more than 30 years.
Thai Escorp was one of the earliest Japanese-affiliated companies in the industry to enter the Thai market. The main businesses it is currently developing are as follows.
■ Sales of Solid wire (mainly from Kobe Steel)
■ Sales of Welding robot ・Welding machine (mainly from OTC Daihen)
■ Maintenance of welding robots and welding machines
■ Equipment design and device sales related to inspection, IoT, and automation
Shinsho Corporation's welding division has overseas bases in Thailand, China, Indonesia, and Malaysia, but the Thai subsidiary is a base that has expanded overseas at a relatively early stage. The company's greatest asset is the experience and expertise it has accumulated in Thailand over the past 30 years. With customers in a wide range of industries, including automobile- and motorcycle-related parts, construction machinery, and air conditioners, the company has developed a system that enables it to provide everything from welding materials to engineering services locally. In particular, maintenance by local engineers is a service unique to Thailand.

Started handling of second-hand welding robots
Also focusing on activities as a “Universal Robots” distributor
In addition to the services that it has been providing, the company has begun new initiatives since last year.
"We have launched two new services between last year and this year: the first is the purchase and sale of used welding and handling robots, which we began at the end of 2022. We trade in old welding robots, our engineers repair them, and offer them as second-hand machines. This service is beneficial to customers who are considering replacing their robots or installing new machines at low cost. Second, in January 2023, we began handling Universal Robots’ products as its distributor in Thailand. We can propose various types of equipment incorporating products of Universal Robots for the purpose of automation and labor saving, not to mention their use as welding equipment," said GM Hayashi.
The company's unique know-how in the welding field cultivated over many years in Thailand and its trustworthy relationships with various manufacturers are the company's strengths. In addition to these, the two new initiatives in the robot fields are expected to be solutions to meet diverse demands.
