A system that reads and writes RF tag data using radio waves (electromagnetic waves) non-contact style is called "Near Field Communication Automatic Identification Technology (RFID)." It allows instant exchange of information between tags and readers. It is a revolutionary technology that can not only read, but also rewrite information. In recent years, it has begun to be utilized in various fields. We, “Freewill-Mars Tohken Co., Ltd.”, are the first company to commercialize it. We provide services mainly in manufacturing and retail industries also in Thailand.
The advantage of RFID is its ease of use.
With the barcode method, each test object must be visually directed toward the reader to be read. On the other hand, the biggest feature of RFID is that the reading starts immediately regardless of the direction.
Information can be easily captured even if the tag is inside the box and not visible, or if the tag surface is dirty and cannot be easily read with a barcode. It greatly improves efficiency and workability.
Although RFID is a very convenient, the locations and situations where it can be used vary depending on the frequency band of the radio wave used. It is necessary to select a frequency that matches the actual usage. We are mainly handling the 920MHZ UHF band (Ultra-High Frequency band). The UHF band has a large readable range of several meters to around a dozen meters and is excellent in managing a wide range of information at once, compared to short waves that are used for communicating in closer range.
We are providing our UHF band RFID service focusing on this point. In recent years, the UHF band has become a frequency band that has started to attract attention, and its reading ability covering a wide range of distance is suitable for factories and large-scale retail stores that have a certain scale and handle many products and much merchandise. We expect that it is a field in which the demand is going to continue to grow in the ASEAN region where the manufacturing industry is developing and the market continues to expand, such as Thailand.
The benefit is not just understanding of the final product and merchandise managing. It is not only useful for management of work-in-process and parts, but also for automatic recognition of the movement itself between processes. As further progress is certain to come in the future for RFID, it is one of the key technologies required for automation, visualization, and IoT of the production site.

Because the UHF band has a high output, it is required to apply for registration as a wireless device in Japan. It is the same in Thailand where a special license is required as well. We, of course have a sales license, but can also provide one-stop consultation and service for users to apply for their license as we have established its know-how. How about considering the UHF-band RFID for next-generation product management and merchandise management?
