Ensuring traceability in the manufacturing business greatly contributes to strengthening risk management such as recalling defective products, and improving yields. Introducing the newly released "MCR-F1000" , a high-precision code reader that plays a part in this.
This next-generation code reader is the first industrial code reader with a varifocal (variable focus) system, autofocus, and 3x zoom function. The MCR-F1000 has 5 million pixels, compared to 350,000 pixels in the conventional model, and can capture images from a distance of about 2 meters. Furthermore, performance has been dramatically improved, such as being able to read extremely small codes and codes installed in inclined locations. It is also equipped with a setup support function that allows first-time users to set up the system without hesitation, and a Wi-Fi function, which was not available in the conventional products, allows for easy maintenance after installation.
Mechanical focus-zoom mechanism allows readings at various distances and magnifications
Although it is autofocused, it has a deep depth, does not require fine focus adjustment, and reliably reads workpieces of different heights. In the past, the imaging size decreased as the distance increased, resulting in insufficient pixels to read, but with varifocal, it is possible to zoom to the same size even at a distance. In addition, it can capture images from different distances beautifully with the same angle of view (size).
Accurate code reading without disturbing the work area
Barcode reading is possible over long distances, allowing for a spacious work area. This is an ideal feature for customers who have faced challenges such as inefficient workflow due to the placement of the code reader or having to give up installation altogether.

Since it is equipped with a function to correct image distortion (trapezoid correction function), enabling highly accurate reading of symbols that must be installed on a sloped surface.
It can read symbols that were previously difficult to read, multiple symbols with a wide angle of view, and even extremely small codes with a cell size of 0.125 mm from different distances with high accuracy.

Symbol print quality check and PDF output with report function
The system is equipped with an in-line print quality check function for 2D codes captured by this product, and print quality can be verified using the evaluation parameters of ISO/IEC 15415 or ISO/IEC TR 29158, enabling a detailed understanding of trends in symbol changes over time as they flow along the line. It is possible to display the problem of the reading result in an easy-to-understand manner and output a report.
*This function outputs evaluation results in the same format as the evaluation parameters of the specification, but it is intended to perform a simple check and cannot be used as a formal 2D code verifier.
