"Modern Manufacturing Forum", an event for the manufacturing industry held throughout Thailand. The SAMURAI ASIA Editorial Department interviewed the Toyota Material Handling (Thailand) booth at the exhibition held in Samut Sakhon Province on October 7.
On this day, 10 companies that are deeply involved in smart factories exhibited and showcased products and solutions that contribute to improving factory productivity. Many of the visitors are from the food and chemical industry (approximately 100 companies), which are active in FA and Thailand 4.0 strategies.
Toyota Material Handling exhibited the AGV "KEY CART" and automated warehouse (AS/RS), which attracted the attention of visitors. “Small exhibitions are an important opportunity to talk with each and every visitor,” says Marketing Supervisor Ms. Sirinda (center).
AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) is attracting a lot of attention from participants since the wide range of industries will get benefit from its installation.
The main body of the KEYCART is exposed without a cover so that the user can easily devise how to use it or add necessary functions later. Therefore, the price of the main unit is kept to a minimum. At such an exhibition, its features can be seen up close and be easily understood.
Magnetic tape was attached to the floor of the venue to show actual movements such as forward, backward, and rotation on the spot. When it gets close to the feet of visitors, , the obstacle sensor works and stops automatically, offering a demonstration of the safety features.
Automated warehouses (AS/RS) and moving racks are important for promoting FA and labor saving. By combining it well with the AGV, further efficiency can be achieved. However, "In Thailand, I feel that TOYOTA has a strong impression of automobiles and forklifts in the field of material handling. I want all the customers to know that we can make comprehensive on-site improvement proposals," says Ms. Sirinda.
