The company handles products from a variety of manufacturers, and one of the major companies is Yamaha. In February 2023, Yamaha established “Yamaha Robotics Solutions Asia Pte. Ltd.” in Singapore to expand its business in Southeast Asia and India, where demand for robotics is growing. In order to respond to rising demand, the establishment of the new company was aimed at speeding up business development by locating the head office as close to the site as possible.

The history of business between Ueno (Thailand) and Yamaha Robotics is very long, and the two companies have been deeply involved with each other. In Southeast Asia, Yamaha products have been installed in factories in a wide range of industries, from automobiles to electrical and electronic components, and even food products, and Ueno (Thailand) is providing strong support to these businesses. Among them, there are a great deal of achievements in the fields of surface mount machines and industrial robots.

Strengths of Yamaha's industrial robots (SCARA robots) lie in their wide range of lineup and durability

Yamaha's robotics products boast a wide range of lineup, from single-axis robots to SCARA robots.

"We have models that can be used for work related to electronic components, food, and medical equipment in clean rooms. SCARA robots are available in small to large sizes, from lightweight to heavy-duty models, making it easy for customers to choose. The price line is also very wide. Yamaha is not a manufacturer that appeals to low prices, but we have the XE series , which can be said to be an economical version of SCARA robots, so we are competitive enough,” says Mr. Fukigami of Ueno (Thailand).

In particular, there still remain many processes in semiconductor manufacturing that require human intervention. Ueno (Thailand) leverages the variety of Yamaha's robotics products variations to provide various proposals that meet the needs of customers.

"For example, we may propose total handling for wire bonders, or a new system combining SCARA robots around a linear conveyor module. Custom-made orders are also available. It has a reputation for durability as well. The beginning of robotics was when robots originally used in factories that produced motorcycles were sold externally. Because there is a history of making robots sturdy so that they do not produce errors, they are not only of high quality but also tough, durable, and can be used for a long time" says Mr. Eda of Ueno (Thailand).

Responding to customer needs through attentive sales and proposals

Although Ueno (Thailand) itself does not have engineering functions, it works with Yamaha's partner companies on technical aspects. The company provides comprehensive backup to its customers in a support role, and also offers attentive after-sales service.

"We plan to establish an FA sales group within the company this year and hire two Thai sales representatives who will be in charge of FA only. We plan to take the lead in promoting the technology, functions and maintenance of Yamaha products," says Mr. Fukigami of Ueno (Thailand).

Founded as a tool dealer, Ueno (Thailand) has been visiting customers frequently, listening to the problems and issues they were facing, and sometimes uncovering latent problems. Its sales and proposal capabilities, which offer effective products to solve a wide variety of problems, are highly regarded in the industry.

“It is reassuring to know that the number of service personnel has increased considerably. We have high expectations for new customer cultivation through attentive sales, utilizing extensive connections with its customers," says Mr. Hirabayashi of Yamaha Robotics.

Not only Southeast Asia, but also India is within the scope of Yamaha Robotics Solutions Asia Pte. It is certain that the wave of automation is steadily increasing in the country. With a strong partnership with Ueno (Thailand), the company will undoubtedly continue to build up its track record in Southeast Asia and India.
