Here is a demonstration of image processing inspection for terminal pins at the ends of electric wires.
In this demonstration, visual inspection and measurement of metal pin connectors conveyed at high speed are performed.
This demonstration is designed to inspect terminal pins as they come out of the press machine before being wound by a winding machine. It focuses on image inspection of surface scratches, bends (deformation), and contamination (foreign particles) on metal press parts such as terminals, terminal pins, and leads used in connectors and wire harnesses.
Traditionally, inspection of pressed parts involved only deformation checks using backlighting. This was because surface inspection using a camera and lighting takes a long time to process.
However, recent technological advancements have improved CPU performance and lighting intensity, enabling high-speed inspection of surface scratches and contamination in addition to deformation, using front lighting.
