Mold cooling system

Ahresty Techno Service 'Jet Cool System'

Capable of cooling thin core pins! Mold cooling system that increases machine utilization rate and leads to defect countermeasures

The “Jet Cool System” from Ahresty Techno Service is designed to internally cool thin core pins, preventing burn-on and enabling continuous casting. It significantly reduces downtime for polishing core pins. For die-cast products, the rapid cooling of the core pin periphery forms a strong chill layer, leading to pressure leakage prevention. In addition, the faster solidification of aluminum drives shrinkage cavities to the inside, leading to countermeasures against processing defects. Further, the use of mold release agents can be reduced by reinforcing internal cooling. At the same time, the amount of mist in the factory is reduced, leading to environmental measures. The elimination of burn-on makes it possible to reduce the core pin draft angle, thereby reducing the machining allowance for the pin hole.

[Performance examples]
◾️ Prevention of burn-on
When thin core pins are not cooled, burn-on occurs after about 50 shots of casting, whereas when cooled by the Jet Cool System, almost no burn-on is observed even after about 5,000 shots.

◾️Reduced polishing time
Core pins used to be polished at least once a day, but after the implementation of the Jet Cool System, casting can be done without polishing.

◾️Reduction of pressure leakage defect rate
Rapid cooling around the core pins forms a strong chill layer. This reduces the pressure leakage rate.

◾️Prevention of cavities around the core pin
When using the Jet Cool System, solidification around the core pin is accelerated, cavities are pushed further in, and shrinkage cavities around the core pin are almost eliminated.

[Product features]
◾️System for intermittently cooling thin core pins from the inside
◾️Capable of cooling pins with outer diameters from φ4 to φ10
◾️Capable of reaching the tip of the cooling hole without boiling the cooling water
◾️Air purge function prevents overcooling
◾️ Cooling time can be controlled for each flow path system
◾️Completely separated from normal cooling by a dedicated circuit

[Product lineup]
Models can be selected according to mold size, number of pins to be cooled, and supply water usage.
◾️Jet Cool System M Type
Model: Number of cooling pins
M20: Approx. 20
M40: Approx. 40
M60: Approx. 60
M100: Approx. 100

◾️Closed Jet Cool System C Type
Model: Number of cooling pins
C20: Approx. 20
C40: Approx. 40
C60: Approx. 60
*The number of cooling pins for each model is a guideline and may vary depending on the diameter and length of the thin-hole mold cooling pipe used, as well as the diameter and length of the cooling hole of the pin.
