Asia Maintenance (hereinafter referred to as AMA), provides comprehensive engineering services for equipment in Thailand. In this article, we will take a closer look at the purpose and background behind AMA's establishment, as well as the strengths of its business."
AMA was founded in September 2018 and established its own factory in Samut Prakan Province in October 2019.
Originally, it was the maintenance division of Idaka (Thailand), but the scope of work was limited as part of a trading company's division. To expand its business in Thailand, it was spun off and incorporated as the Idaka Group's first independent, in-house maintenance company.
Even during its time as part of Idaka, the maintenance division played a crucial role in differentiating itself from competitors by focusing on creating added value through service-oriented solutions rather than just selling products. Since becoming independent, AMA has further strengthened its collaboration with Idaka, while dedicating itself to business activities that capitalize on its strength in service-oriented value creation.
AMA handles an extensive range of machines and repair services, covering all types of production equipment used in the manufacturing industry.
■ Repair/Modification:
Spindle heads, spindle units, rotary tables, general-purpose equipment, and specialized machines
■ non-machining equipment:
Design, manufacture, and modification of conveyors, electrical discharge machines, and various specialized machines
■ Jig manufacturing
...and more.
AMA also provides local maintenance support for Japanese-affiliated machine and tool manufacturers that do not have a base in Thailand. For contracted manufacturers, AMA engineers undergo training at the manufacturer's headquarters and are officially certified as maintenance partners in Thailand.
<Examples of manufacturers with official maintenance service partnership>
・ Futamura Machines & Tools Co., Ltd.
・Izumi Kinzoku Kogyo Co., Ltd.
・Terada Pump Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
・Hasegawa Machine Works Co., Ltd.
...and others
If we were to highlight the key concepts that symbolize AMA's strengths, they would be 'Preventive Maintenance' and 'Technical Heritage'.
The company not only repairs broken equipment and spindles but also actively promotes proper maintenance on a regular basis. Like humans, machines experience variations in precision due to aging and changes in their operating environment. Accurately understanding the current condition of equipment helps boost productivity and implement necessary adjustments.
【Strengths of AMA】
◎Reliable Technical Expertise and a Wealth of Experience & Know-how
AMA employs four Japanese engineers from former Japanese-affiliated machine tool manufacturers, alongside eight Thai engineers. With a focus on precision comparable to that of Japan, we have extensive experience in repairing and modifying a wide variety of machinery, showcasing some of the best technical skills and know-how in Thailand. We perform approximately 500 repairs of rotary units and about 30 slide repairs involving scraping work annually.
Moreover, our motto is to share engineering expertise both internally and externally, demonstrating a strong commitment to passing on our skills to future generations. We collaborate with numerous partner manufacturers to provide a one-stop solution for most repair and modification projects within Thailand.
We are ready to respond quickly to sudden breakdowns or “problems” with equipment. Please feel free to reach out to us for any inquiries.
