In our daily lives, products made from metals, such as components for smartphones, cars, and home appliances, are indispensable. These metal products are cut using machine tools, which generate a lot of chips in the process. At Hakusan Kiko, we develop and manufacture chip conveyors used for the disposal of these chips. Instead of manually processing these chips, our chip conveyors collect them, achieving labor-saving and automation. Chip conveyors play an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of machine tools that perform precision cutting.
Since its establishment in 1963, Hakusan Kiko has been manufacturing chip conveyors on a made-to-order basis, one by one, according to customer needs. Its flexible production system, which handles everything from order reception to manufacturing and installation, is a key feature of Hakusan Kiko. Although a late starter as a chip conveyor manufacturer in Japan, the company has grown to hold the top share of the Japanese chip conveyor market.
In fact, there are various of chip conveyors for chip treatment, and the same goes for coolant filtration systems. The strength of Hakusan lies in our ability to propose any type of system, regardless of the variety. Having designed and manufactured each unit to meet our customers' requirements, the Hakusan Group has accumulated a wealth of technology and experience, which we now leverage in our proposals.
We believe another of our strengths is our ability to provide solutions through seamless collaboration across our bases in Japan, China, and Thailand. Leveraging the extensive experience of our entire group, we deliver high-quality products and advanced solutions in Thailand as well.
In Thailand, it is currently common to retrofit conveyors. However, for instances when we receive inquiries about the installation of large-scale centralized conveyors or pump-up systems, we can collaborate with our bases in Japan and China to proceed from proposals to manufacturing and installation. We do not rely solely on know-how in Thailand but utilize the knowledge and experience of our international network.
Currently, the Hakusan Group's overseas bases are in China and Thailand. Recently we have been receiving an increasing number of inquiries from India and other Southeast Asian countries. In the growing Southeast Asian market, we consider Thailand to be a key future hub. Since our entry into Thailand in 2016, we have already relocated twice, each time we expanded the factory size . However, compared to our factory in Japan (with an average monthly production of 270 units and a maximum of 500 units), production in Thailand is still relatively small (with an average monthly production of 10 to 20 units). With the market growth, we are also considering further capacity expansion to better serve more customers in the future.
