Takamaz Machinery Europe has been in the European market for about 20 years, where the world's top-level machining technology competes with each other. With Germany as its main base, the company continues to supply compact precision lathes, one of TAKAMAZ's strengths, to countries throughout Europe, and it is said that there are now about 2,200 units installed.
Mr. Kawakado has been assigned to Takamaz Machinery Europe as a service engineer from FY2022. With the increase in the number of dealers in Europe, the company aims to provide customers with speedier services. We interviewed Mr Kawakado, an experienced service engineer who is posted to Germany for the second time following 2012-2017.

TAKAMAZ‘s multi-tasking machine with high operability and space savings for the European market, where automation is advancing
In Europe, multi-tasking machines have become the main inquiries and sales, due in part to the trend toward automation and process integration. In general, there is an image that multi-tasking machines can perform complicated machining but are difficult to operate, "TAKAMAZ's multi-tasking machines are easy to operate and can perform higher grade and extra machining with high precision," says Mr Kawakado.
✓ Good operability: Complicated machining can be executed with simple operation
✓ Space saving: Features a compact machine
✓ High flexibility: Customization according to the desired specifications is possible (both in-house and at dealers)
In addition to these advantages, the service aspect has also been strengthened by the appointment of Mr Kawakado from this season.
Experienced service engineers stationed in Europe (Germany) Increased response and flexibility!
Mr Kawakado, who has been working in Japan in the sales engineering section and overseas customer support before stationed in Germany for 5 years has been assigned to Germany again as a service engineer starting in 2022. This enabled the company to communicate with dealers and customers in a timely manner. Although business is increasingly conducted online these days, the eight-hour time difference between Japan and Germany had made it difficult to respond quickly.
In Europe, the technical level of dealers in each country is high, and there are many inquiries about the details of machines and software. Each dealer often customizes peripheral machines and other equipment according to the user's specifications. Therefore, it is better for us as a manufacturer to have someone who understands the technical aspects in detail so that we can respond flexibly," says Mr Kawakado.
By strengthening technical services and enabling timely exchanges, we have evolved into a system that can more strongly support for dealers and users of TAKAMAZ products in Europe.
Apply, what we learn from the world class high technology level in European market, to the entire Takamatsu Machinery Group.
The level of technology in Europe and Germany is among the highest in the world. New technologies often spread from Europe to the rest of the world. "Because of the high level of the market, we often learn about new ways of using machines that are not known in Japan through conversations with users and dealers. I consider it my role to share such discoveries in Europe as knowledge with the head office in Japan," says Mr Kawakado
Takamatsu Machinery is learning from advanced technologies and ideas and growing as a group. Takamaz Machinery Europe is strengthening its service engineering capabilities, so please feel free to contact us with any technical questions you may have.
