Takamatsu Machinery’s precision lathes are mainly manufactured at two bases: the Head Office Plant and the Asahi Plant that started operations in April 2022, both located in Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, In this article, we will introduce the latest production facilities and production capacity of the Asahi Plant.
The following two factories produce and customize all Takamatsu lathes sold to various countries. With the opening of the Asahi Plant, the production capacity has been greatly improved, and the production volume of precision lathes has increased 1.5 to 2 times.
<Head Office Plant>
With a history of more than 30 years in operation, this is the main base for administrative, engineering, and manufacturing departments (machining and standard assembly). In addition to design work and research & development, it also performs parts machining, unit assembly, and standard assembly using the latest mother machines from Japan and overseas.

In recent years, Takamatsu Machinery has been focusing on product development and achievement of SDGs to realize “a sustainable society”.
The Asahi Plant is fully equipped with energy-saving and SDGs-friendly facilities, based on the concept of "a factory that is friendly to both people and the environment”.
【Example of energy saving measures at the Asahi Plant】
・Advanced energy-saving air conditioning system using well water "Pre-cool/Pre-heat System"
An air conditioning system that utilizes fresh outdoor air from a well with a stable temperature throughout the year. The system efficiently produces a "pre-cooling effect" in summer and a "pre-heating effect" in winter, resulting in annual energy savings of approximately 350MWh.
・Introduction of BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicles)
Two environmentally friendly BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicles) were introduced for transportation between the Head Office Plant and the Asahi Plant. The Asahi Plant is also equipped with charging ports where customers can recharge their batteries.
In addition, we are considering installing a solar power generation system to generate electricity within the plant in the future.
Tours of our factories are available at any time. The Asahi Plant has been visited by European distributors, and we actively offer tours to our overseas customers as well. We invite you to visit our flagship plant, where you can experience the history and technical know-how accumulated by the Takamatsu Group over the past 70 years.
