Takamatsu Machinery released its latest precision lathe model in 2023. With CE certification completed in 2024, sales in Europe are now set to begin. In this article, we introduce the XW series' latest model, the "XWT-8," a 2-spindle, 2-turret precision lathe.
A Multi-tasking Lathe with Enhanced Customization Flexibility
Takamatsu Machinery is committed to providing "machines that generate profit," specializing in CNC precision lathes for high-precision machining. Among these, the "XW Series" stands out, addressing diverse multi-tasking requirements. This expert model delivers high rigidity, compactness, and precision thanks to its unique parallel spindle structure.
The new "XWT-8" model introduced here has been developed as the successor to the flagship XW-130 of the XW series. It offers improved operability and work efficiency through DX (Digital Transformation) technology, enhanced loader performance and speed, and energy efficiency with a focus on sustainability.
【Key Features】 (Upgrade points from existing XW series models)
■ Loader Control Compatible with FANUC Controllers
In earlier models, the machine and loader required separate controls. However, with the XWT-8, both can now be managed using a FANUC controller. This improvement enhances customization flexibility for customers and better meets the demands of the European market.
■ 21.5-Inch Large Screen for Enhanced Visibility with FANUC TOUGH TOUCH Panel
The three-part split multi-screen design enables intuitive operation. Automation and task simplification through DX technology have enhanced customization from the user’s perspective.
■ Improved Rapid Traverse Speed Through the Lightweight Design of Σ→FANUC and Loader Components
The new loader system has increased rapid traverse speeds across all axes. Loading time has been reduced by 10% compared to previous models, achieving a time of 5.5 seconds.
■ Energy Efficiency Achieved with the New F-Loader System
By integrating the automation system into the main control unit, energy consumption and CO2 emissions have been reduced by 22% compared to previous models.
■ Bed Pedestal Structure Changed from Water-Cooled to Air-Cooled.
This change eliminates the need for cooling water maintenance and management, reducing both energy consumption and running costs.
Demonstration Units Scheduled for the European Market by the End of 2024
We will exhibit at the international trade show "EMO Hannover 2025," taking place in Hanover, Germany, from September 22 to 27, 2025. Sales and demonstrations of the machine for European customers are expected to begin within 2024.
Since the 1990s, Takamatsu Machinery has been dedicated to developing environmentally friendly products and will continue to prioritize this commitment. To address the dual demands of environmental responsibility and high added value, we will keep delivering high-quality, high-precision TAKAMAZ brand products to our customers.
