Technoplast (Thailand) performs precision plastic (resin) machining in Thailand. Resins are sensitive to environmental factors like heat and humidity. By combining cutting with annealing, we can achieve higher-precision resin parts. In this article, we will introduce “annealing,” a type of heat treatment.
In resin processing, warping and distortion have long been challenging issues, primarily caused by residual stress* within the resin. Annealing is a heat treatment process used to remove this residual stress from the material and product, thereby preventing deformation of the processed parts.
*Residual stress: Forces that continue to act inward or outward within an object even after external forces are removed
• Reduces warping and bending of plastic after processing
• Prevents loss of strength and durability
• Reduces the risk of cracking
• Restores warping and bending in resin parts
By heating the resin at a constant temperature for a specified period and then gradually cooling it to room temperature, residual stress is removed, reducing warping and distortion. The heating time and temperature vary depending on the type, manufacturer, and grade of the plastic, requiring experience and expertise.
At Technoplast, we operate annealing kilns not only in Japan but also at our factory in Thailand. With only a few factories in Thailand capable of performing annealing, our nearly 30 years of experience and achievements in this field are a significant advantage.
- Internal Dimensions: Capable to process workpieces up to 600 × 600 × 600 mm
- Temperature Range: (20°C) to 300°C
Annealing conditions vary by material. With 30 years of experience, we have developed expertise and optimal processing conditions for each type of resin. This allows you to trust us with confidence in Thailand. We have experience in the heat treatment of nearly 20 types of resins.
<Annealing Treatment Record by Material>
- MC Nylon (various types)
- ABS Resin
- AC (Acrylic)
- PCTFE (Polychlorotrifluoroethylene)
- PTFE (Teflon)
- PBT GF (Polybutylene Terephthalate with Glass Fiber)
- PC (Polycarbonate)
- PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone)
- PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)
- POM (Polyoxymethylene) (various types)
- PP (Polypropylene)

- And more
Many resin materials commonly distributed in Thailand are of lower quality compared to those in the Japanese market, often leading to issues like warping. The precision of the machined parts we provide is significantly enhanced through annealing, resulting in parts that closely match the specifications. If you are experiencing issues with warping or other problems with plastic parts, please do not hesitate to consult with us.
