Characteristics of the Super Engineering Plastic "PEEK Resin"
PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone) resin is an exceptionally high-performance thermoplastic known for its superior heat resistance, mechanical properties, and chemical resistance. Although it is more expensive compared to common resins like polyethylene, its comprehensive performance justifies the cost and makes it suitable for a wide range of industrial components and applications.
【Key Characteristics of PEEK Resin】
■Excellent Heat Resistance
With a continuous use temperature of up to 250°C, it is highly heat-resistant among super engineering plastics, making it ideal for manufacturing environments that require stable properties under high temperatures.
■High Mechanical Properties
It exhibits excellent mechanical properties including tensile strength, impact resistance, and abrasion resistance even in high-temperature environments.
■Excellent Chemical Resistance
It offers high resistance to a wide range of chemicals, including acids, alkalis, and organic solvents, while maintaining stable performance.
■High Flame Retardancy
It is more flame retardant compared to other resin materials, with no smoke emission or generation of corrosive or toxic gases during combustion, or toxic gases during vacuum processing.
■Low Water Absorption
With an extremely low water absorption rate of 0.04%, it has very high resistance to moisture and water. (MC nylon: 0.8%)
■High Dimensional Stability After Processing
It maintains excellent dimensional stability after processing, showing minimal deformation due to aging or environmental changes.
■Approved Food Safety
It meets the standards of Japan's Food Sanitation Law, ensuring it is safe for use in food contact applications.
Additionally, it offers excellent tribological properties and wear resistance, making it ideal for mechanical components. Despite its lightweight nature, it possesses high strength, contributing to weight reduction in applications such as automotive and aerospace industries. Furthermore, its high electrical insulation properties make it widely used as an insulating material in electronic components.
In resin machining, warping of the workpiece after processing is often a challenge. At Technoplast, we utilize our extensive machining experience and expertise to achieve high-precision cutting of PEEK resin with minimal warping.

Three Different Grades of PEEK Resin Are Available
We offer three grades of PEEK resin, including those reinforced with glass fibers and carbon fibers.
■Sliding Grade: PEEK HPV (FC)
To enhance tribological properties and wear resistance, this grade is reinforced with approximately 10% each of carbon fibers, graphite, and tetrafluoroethylene. It is commonly used in automotive and industrial applications, making it suitable for gears, bearings, and similar components.
■Glass Fiber Reinforced Grade: PEEK GF
This grade is reinforced with glass fibers, which enhances the mechanical strength and modulus of the material, as well as its resistance to heat deformation.
■Carbon Fiber Reinforced, Conductive Grade: PEEK CA
This grade is reinforced with carbon fibers to improve conductivity, making it suitable for small electronic components that are sensitive to static electricity or dust.
